The Process

I always try to fit in bookings with shorter notice, but to avoid disappointment please get in touch as soon as possible.

1

Get in Touch

If you are considering Cakey Lulu’s for your cake, the first step is to get in touch with your wedding date and venue to check my availability for your special day. You can do this via my contact form.

We will then discuss your general ideas via e-mail initially - I’ll need to know guest numbers, colours and whether you have a particular style or theme for your wedding.

2

Book Your Date

To make sure that each cake is given my full love and attention, I take on a maximum of two wedding cakes per week. Due to this, I recommend that you book your date with me as soon as you can - preferably at least 6-9 months in advance, or 12-15 months for peak season dates. A £100 booking fee will save your date and is then deducted from the final cost of your cake.

3

TASTE SOME CAKE!

Once you’re booked in, I will invite you for your complimentary consultation and taster around 4-6 months before your wedding*! We will go through all your ideas and decide on your perfect design, and you get to try a selection of cake flavours. I will then finalise and send you all the details - from design to delivery and everything in between.

*Our consultations are currently being held virtually via video call, with your cake sample box posted or available to collect.

Consultation

I love to hear all about weddings and the things that make your day individual and personal to you as a couple. I especially love working these little details into the design of your cake! Consultations are the perfect time to try some delicious cake samples as we talk through your wedding style so I understand how the cake can complement it.

Whether you know exactly the style of cake you want or you have no clue - I can help! After our meeting I’ll put everything together into a final proposal with details of the design, number of servings, delivery and setup, any added extras and the price.

Delivery

Due to the delicate nature of the sugar craft on our cakes I like to personally deliver your cake to the venue, making sure it’s properly set up and looking its absolute best. That way, you can relax in the lead up to your wedding day knowing your cake is in safe hands. I will liaise directly with the wedding coordinator at your venue to arrange delivery and set up, so it’s one less thing for you to think about. The cost of delivery and set up will be included in your cake quote.

I will also liaise with your florist if you’ve chosen fresh flowers.

Payment

A £100 booking fee is all it takes to secure your date in my diary.

Your final balance payment is required one month prior to your delivery date. You will receive an email reminder as I know your schedule is likely to be busy!

A full copy of our terms and conditions will be sent to you with your cake quote.
